Retractable Baby Gate – Safe and Convenient

Models that have automatic rewind mechanisms are convenient and easy to use. They are also safer as a partially rewound mesh that is flopping or lying on the floor can present a potential trip hazard. Check for automatic rewind features that retracts the mesh smoothly and quietly in a steady manner.  

Because of the mesh material the retractable baby gates are usually not recommended for use in top of the stairs.  

Some of the things to look out for while purchasing a retractable gate include the installation and noise factor. Most retractable gates require some skill and special tools to install them. These types of gates are also known to produce loud noise while retracting which can be quite annoying.  

The most attractive and the best feature of a retractable baby gate is that it can be hidden when not in use. If you don’t have enough space to use a swing open gate then retractable gates are your best option. The laminate polyester mesh is quite sturdy and can be just rolled up, out of your way and sight when it is not needed, for instance, when you have guests or when you don’t have to secure the space.
